Hyper, irreverent, and just downright fabulous, ANT has steadily
climbed the comedy hill to become one of the most successful
comedians of our time. A regular guest on The Tonight Show with Jay
Leno and The Tyra Banks show, ANT is the only comedian to appear on
all five seasons of NBC’s hit series Last Comic Standing.
ANT grew up in New Hampshire as Anthony Steven Kalloniatis. He attended the University of New Hampshire where he was affectionately known as "what's your name again?" Inebriated at a bar one night, he got up on stage at a local talent contest and performed a crude stand-up routine for the first time. He lost, but a seed was planted and he knew comedy was his calling. College didn't seem to suit his growing fascination with stand-up comedy, and in 1986 he dropped out and escaped to Los Angeles to pursue his comedy career.
Ant performed at comedy clubs across the USA beginning in 1991. In 1995, he was a semi-regular cast member on the WB series “Unhappily Ever After,” spending four seasons on the sitcom.
He is recognized as the host of VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club and in the LOGO series, “U.S. of ANT.” ANT ventured out of his comfort zone, appearing in “Celebri-Cadabra.” a competition show featuring magic and celebrities. His hit stand-up DVD, “ANT: America’s Ready” and comedy CD “Follow my ass!” have sold tens of thousands of copies. ANT’s daily video blog, “The ANT Colony,” took the web by storm.
ANT is also an addict. He was given the gift of recovery and now his primary mission in life is helping people however he can, through comedy, through service, and through his podcast, “Second Chances” which he hosts with his friend Greg Baldwin. They interview celebrities and normal folk about their second chance in life. Heroic, inspiring, often comedic true life stories from the people who are living them.
ANT is still on tour as a comedian and works in addiction/recovery helping others get clean and sober.
