Amanda Gibson, LCSW, has worked for over 15 years in clinical and leadership roles in non-profit organizations specializing in helping people survive traumatic life events. Amanda teaches online classes for the USC School of Social Work Virtual Academic Campus. Personally, she has survived her life being turned upside down from relationship and major health events.
Amanda says she can remember distinct moments after each event where she began to feel again. After she spent many long days and nights in emotional and physical pain, literally ‘gushing in suffering’; she began to have moments where joy made its way back into her life.
“The other side of suffering is joy and I would not have known such "gushing joy" if I had not felt such pain,” says Amanda. “I firmly believe we are amazing human beings who are adaptive. We have to love ourselves in the low moments, but not get stuck there.”
Amanda specializes in child welfare, domestic violence, trauma survivors, chronic health conditions, mental health, and wellness wants to walk alongside of you as joy comes back into your life. You will still be you, but wiser, more in tune with the universe and those around you.
